Penguins on the Beach

This birthday card is for someone who loves penguins. And I was happy to use a bit more of the old Imaginisce 'A shore thing' papers with the Snag'ems stamp of this little fella feeling the heat! I stamped and embossed in black on pearly card and cut the two layers with Nestabilities. Then I coloured him by using my Cosmic Shimmer sprays but I took the lids off and used a paintbrush to make him all nice and shimmery.  :)
Challenges: Sketch Saturday; Kaboodle Doodles - Beach party theme; Papertake Weekly - Cute.

My first easel cards

Yes, I know everybody has been making them for ages: That's why it's taken me so long - I was sick of seeing them! So you'd think after all the inspiring examples I've seen I could come up with some super duper ones? Well, these are simple ones but I do love the old PaperMania 'Sweet Nothings' papers ...
First with a Sarah Kay stamp which I'm entering for Kaboodle Doodle challenge #30 'Celebrate Spring'
and the second one with a Penny Black stamp which I'm entering for A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge 'Furry Friends' and the PaperPlay challenge to use a stamp and bling (I 'stickled' lots of highlights and the flower centres, which I hope shows on the photo)
and of course I'm entering the pair for Daring Cardmakers 'Easel does it' challenge.

Kaboodle Doodle #6

This week's Kaboodle Doodle challenge was a sketch - My take on it is upside-down and using fibres for the horizontal stripes. Not at all what I had planned in my head when I started but there we are!Papers: Kaboodle Doodle, stamps SeeDs with Brilliance ink and water colouring with Distress Inks. Snowflake cut on Cuttlebug from thin foam packing material and then stuck down and decorated with holographic glitter glue.

Kaboodle Doodle 5 and Saturday Sketchers 33

This week's Kaboodle Doodle challenge was to use the free download papers (thanks Andrea - I love the papers) so I combined them with sketch #33 from Sketch Saturday turned sideways to create this card. I love the lipstick colour and used watercolour pencils on the magnolia image to match. Also love the Maya Road ribbon but the flash has made that look a bit too bright.

Kaboodle Doodle challenge #3 - Tearing

Here's my last minute card for this week's Kaboodle Doodle challenge: to use torn paper. I've used Kaboodle Doodle's free download from week 1 with a Pink Petticoat image and the Cuttlebug 'Bloom Dots' embossing.

Kaboodle Doodle & Friday Sketchers

I've combined the great sketch #18 on Friday sketchers with the Kaboodle Doodle challenge #2 of 'Feeling Spotty' on this card. Andrea at Kaboodle Doodle was kind enough to give everyone who entered last week's challenge a free download so I chose 'Berry Blossom Bright' and have used that for this week's card. Thanks Andrea! Unfortunately the flash has made too much of the bling and the white space: Better in the flesh I think!

Creablablablog & Kaboodle Doodle Challenges

Thought I'd do another 'bon voyage' card for Heather as when I started using these free papers from the new Kaboodle Doodle challenge I felt they were taking on a bit of a SE Asian feel and that's where Heather is heading. I followed the sketch from the french Creablablablog challenge sketch #21.
