Stamp with Fun # 27 - Card with acetate

If you can bare another step card, here's one with a difference made for this week's Stamp with Fun challenge.I got the idea from a Create & Craft programme with Sheena Douglas a few week's ago. I stock and sell a number of Creative Expressions products, such as the Beach stamps used in my last step card, so they email the programme times. Anyway, I liked the idea of putting the acetate over to protect the finer details and to be able to use the bow to hang it from a tree or similar so in this case I embossed the back of the acetate, stamped snowflakes on the front and punched holes with the Big Bite to thread silver ribbon through for my bow.
Used: Dovecraft square card blank (back folded in half, front concertinaed twice) ; Whiff of Joy 'Charlotte with Sleigh', stamped with Versafine and coloured with watercolour pencils and highlighted with a glue pen and Glamour Dust powder; pearl white paper embossed with Snowflakes Cuttlebug folder and highlighted with Brilliance silver ink; snowflake stamp (unknown make) stamped on acetate with Brilliance platinum; Compagnie des elfes text stamped with ColorBox pumpkin patch and cut out with Spellbinders tags on the cuttlebug; tree is an 'extra' from an Anita's decoupage pack.

Basic Grey Sketch challenge

I used Basic Grey Cupcake papers for this fortnight's sketch by Martine on the BG challenge blog. As it was for a man, the 3 big flowers became 3 little star brads but it is all true to sketch, turned 90°. Unfortunately the colours have gone a little wierd in the photo and this is as close as I can get them to look how I think they should be! Everything is Basic Grey Cupcake except the metal embellishments (I know where I bought them but not the company -?), the scraps of red star paper to which I added glue pen and Glamour Dust for extra bling and the Compagnie des elfes text stamp.

Step card - Beach scene

The Daring Cardmakers' challenge this week is 'folding up' which prompted me to get another step card done that has been in my head for ages. Although I wish the lighthouse was more to one side or other, I like how it has turned out: I think it has more of a 3D scene than the others I have made although I am now working on a winter scene too! If you want to see my other step cards (all very different), just click on the label 'Step card' at the bottom of this post and it will show them together :)
I started with a Dovecraft square card blank and folded the back in half and the front in to four and then used U-mount Create-a-scene Beach; masked and stamped with Versafine (grass, birds, some sand layers & boat attached separately); coloured with Distress inks; shell from local beach!

Sketch Saturday # 71

This card uses the great sketch on 'Sketch Saturday'. Struggling a bit with the 'pet' theme requested but our pets are 3 hens and I definitely don't have any stamps of them but it lead me thinking to how I love going 'up the field' (ground we have behind the house) and relaxing by listening to the bird song and we keep the field chemical-free so the hens and wild birds can enjoy it: The finches and other small birds even come and take the hen's food and the pigeons help themselves to our crops: Enough rambling: Have I justified my choice of paper and stamps enough?
Ma carte selon le sketch chez 'Sketch Saturday' mais j'ai poussé le thème de animaux domestique pour utiliser le oiseau parce que chez nous il y a nos trois poules et j'adore les oiseaux et je les donne plein nourriture!
Used/ J'ai utilisé: papers/papiers: PaperMania 'Sweet Nothings'; stamps/tampons: Inkadinkado 'Birds Galore'; ink/encre: Brilliance 'pearlescent lavender'; embossing powder/poudre embosser: transparent/e; flowers, ribbon and 3D pearl paint/ fleurs, ruban et peinture 3D.

Sketch & Stamp # 12

For this card I mirrored the sketch from 'Sketch & Stamp' by Barb and used autumn colours as that's the challenge on Claire Curd's blog: The polka dot background paper is from CCSR 'The Big One' and I added a mat of gold-coloured basic grey paper to give another colour so that I could add the ribbon, flowers and gems in those tones.

Basic Grey Stamps

Not my usual style of card but I love these chalk inks :
I simply used the Basic Grey Insignia stamps with VersaMagic Spanish Olive and Perfect Plumeria chalk inks and layered up on to a PaperMania Rich Red paper.

A quick birthday card

Oh, I was so in a rush today! I went to Just Christmas and Birthday cards, knowing they'd have a sketch I could use when I didn't know whether I was coming or going, and they didn't fail; plus I embossed some Basic Grey which is the challenge over on the BG challenge blog this last fortnight (last minute entry there then)! Of course, things always go wrong when you rush: Enough that you can picture the point where the self-stick chipboard letter left the sticky bit on the sheet: No probs, reached for the tacky glue and gave it a good squeeze: Covered everywhere in 3D gloss - wrong bottle! Now I've just uploaded the pic and waited for it to come in to focus and realised this was as good as it was going to get, and of course it is already in the post (and already late)!Used Basic Grey Cupcake papers; Cuttlebug Traffic Jam embossing folder; 'Thickers' letters; Sakura Stardust pens; Inkadinkado 'Humourous birthday' sentiment, ColorBox chalk ink & Brilliance 'Rocket Red'.
