Quelque chose différent! / Something different!

I have realised a long-term dream and started bee-keeping so, of course, I had to decorate my hive (before getting my bees!). It had a first coat of a special hive paint which is silver-coloured so I incorporated this into my scene. I added blue with a dry brush and with my fingers to create a sky. Then I painted the grass and circles of colour for the flower heads and brayered paint on to PaperArtsy stamps designed by Kay Carley (EKC02) to stamp over the first layer of paint.  You can see this in progress below:
I kept stamping in different colours until I felt there was enough depth to the scenes. Then I got totally carried away adding paint dots to the flowers and anything else that I thought could take them!

A detail: Dots and more dots:

The bees and hens seem to like it and it should be weather-proof
There is also another layer to the hive which will be added next year, lifting the roof from hiding part of this brood box.
