Funky Fairy Challenge #38

This week's Funky Fairy challenge was to make a non-card Christmas something so I used my Eazi-score board to make a quick gift bag. I love my board as it means I don't have to measure anything, just use the score lines so everything is really quick and neat. I love the Funky Fairy 'Merry Christmas' download collection so I printed a paper and matching tags, one of which I coloured red for more contrast. Pour le challenge 'Funky Fairy' j'ai imprimé un papier et des étiquettes de l'ensemble Funky Fairy 'Merry Christmas' et j'ai utilisé ma planche 'Eazi-score' à crée un petit sac de Noël. Avec la planche c'était très rapide et facile sans une règle!

Work in progress: Funky Fairys Challenge

Funky Fairys Challenge #36 is to use the gorgeous halloween papers Shaz has provided as a free download - Thanks Shaz! I have used some here on the inside cover of a little book I am making for my bro-in-law's 40th on the 31st, hence the halloween link! I grunged and grunged with an old black ink pad, using a cotton bud to apply it to smaller areas and to take the shiny white off the die-cut ghosts. As 'Oooh Scary' is a phrase Rob uses quite often (in sarcastic tone and usually when my sister is playfully threatening him with something) that's also a play on words! The white strip at the side will be hidden when it is all put together.

J’ai commencé un mini-album pour le 40e anniversaire de mon beau-frere. Son anniversaire est le 31 octobre donc, pour cette page, j’ai utilisé des papiers de la theme halloween de Funky Fairy: C’est le challenge cette semaine. J’ai utilisé aussi beaucoup de encre noir à vieillir le page et les phantoms.

Sketch Saturday #19

This is very similar to another card I made recently for my godson but this time it is for my son's birthday today. He's getting in to his guitar so the image is well-suited. Excitement has been growing the last few weeks until he burst in to our room at 7am for the first lot of present opening ! As there is no school on Wednesdays here, the party is tomorrow so we are still on high tension.I followed the Sketch Saturday layout for his card with the image coloured with Whispers markers and Funky Fairy Boys papers. The image and stars are popped up on foam. I used silver peel-offs for the text which the flash has highlighted even more!

I made this card using the Funky Fairy sketch and pink FF shabby chic and basics papers and then just realised I hadn't followed the theme of non-trad Xmas: Ooops!

Friday Sketchers #19

I must try to do challenges as they are set not the night before they expire! As the title says, this is my card for Friday Sketchers 19...a water-coloured Magnolia with Funky Fairy 'Shabby Chic' papers, primas and brads. (will try to remember to re-do photo in daylight: Colours DO match, honest! !)

Funky Fairy Sketch Challenge #33

As soon as I saw the sketch for this week's Funky Fairy Challenge I knew exactly what I wanted to do for my Godson's birthday card. I used the Funky Fairy 'Boys and Girls' collection and sampled the colours to create the name and fill the photo frame so it all matched when printed. (Photo is from when we met up on holiday in August but face hidden here)

Hanging up my wings to fly...

I asked a few weeks ago to step down from the Funky Fairy Design Team to spend more time on my own designs. Funky Fairy Papercrafts is really growing which I am thrilled at but I need to focus more on my own business so I've regretfully stepped down as of tomorrow, 31st July. I know Shaz has had several people applying to be on the DT following Lou's well-deserved promotion to co-designer so I don't feel guilty at creating another place. If you hop on over to the Inspirations Blog you can also see how fabby the materials are there and there are links to the shop and to Shaz and the DT members' blogs. They will be announcing the new DT members on 1st August and you can also see sneak peaks of the new stamps and get info on pre-orders.
I wish Shaz and the team the best of luck as they build on recent success and I hope stepping down will give me more time to concentrate on developing my designs so that I will soon be looking for a DT of my own.
In the meantime, here are some of my creations using the 'Basics' collection: and a slide show of some of my other Funky Fairy makes:

Funky Fairy Challenge - Stitching

I set this week's Funky Fairy challenge: Stitching - Real or Faux. That gives lots of scope for cards or other great projects. The DT team have made a range of things so have a look on the Funky Fairy Challenge blog: You have 2 weeks to join in and, as always, there is a fab prize.
I have created this card using 'Basics' papers with stitched ribbon and the hand-stitched A5 folder using 'Funky meets Shabby Chic' with a Magnolia stamp.

Funky Fairy for Mojo Monday

Firstly, thanks for all the nice comments on my blog and starting up my own business: It's certainly been a busy start esp as my sister has been over to stay for the last few days. I made a few cards earlier in the week but haven't had a chance to blog until today. We also went to see the first stage of the Tour de France cycling near here last Saturday and are going to the Brest 2008 shipping festival tomorrow: Lots of photos to scrapbook when I get a chance!

This card is following the sketch on Poetic Artistry - Mojo Monday using Funky Fairies new Shabby Chic papers. I really love both the new collections.

Funky Fairy Challenge 27 - Get Well Soon

Before I got my hands on the scrummy papers below, and before we started the kids challenge blog for Tiny Funky Fairies and Elves (whose challenge continues for another week), I made these cards for the Funky Fairy Challenge which starts today and runs for 2 weeks: That will be the pattern from now on so the big kids and the tinys get their challenges set alternate weeks.
First card made using Funky Fairy Colourful Daze and second card using Funky Fairy Doodles for Daniel stamp paper-pieced with Basics papers.

NEW Funky Fairy Paper Sets !!!

I've been sitting on my hands to hide these papers but all can be revealed...Have a look at the new papers Funky Fairy has brought out here. There are 2 totally gorgeous and co-ordinating sets: Funky's Garden and Funky Meets Shabby Chic. There is so much in them I have only played with a fraction so far but here are my first few cards:The pram is my own design and the stamp from elsewhere (?) but everything else above is from 'Funky's Garden' download.

Tiny Funky Fairies & Elves Rainbow Challenge

Another card from Jack, age 7, for the Tiny Funky Fairies & Elves 'Colours of the Rainbow' Challenge.Just in case you're wondering it's a disco ball! On the very shiny oil-on-water type paper it is quite bling! He used his little craft kit and the only input from me was to supply a card blank.

Funky Fairy Challenge - Paper Piecing

This week's Funky Fairy Challenge is to make something using a Paper Piecing technique, but what is that??? The Design Team had different ideas so I'd really encourage you to have a look and see what we all made and we'd love to see your interpretation.
I went for using stamping on to paper which was then layered over the original stamped image and did 2 variations of this, the first using Funky Fairy Blues with a printed vellum background and the second (spot the extra fish!) using Cool Co-ordinates. I could have used a flesh coloured paper for the boy and had a no paint/colouring option but opted to use pearly paints on my base layer both times.

Funky Fairy Challenge - Something edible...

Han set this week's Funky Fairy Challenge: The challenge this week is to use something edible on your project this can be a stamp, sticker, paper with images of food/ drinks etc. I have used the Funky Fairy Birthday Kit for this card: I love the cake and the ice cream colours of the papers, frames and images .
I added an extra layer to 3D the cake and glazed the dots, candles and flames for added definition and finished off with some gems dotted about.

Funky Fairy Challenge 24

This week's Funky Fairy Challenge is set by Lyds:
Tri, Tri and Tri again!!!
No...it's not a typo!! ^.^ This weeks challenge is dominated by 'threes'...TRIple, TRIangles, TRIcolour... TRIanything you like :0)

So, in a bit of a departure from the norm, I've combined 3 trees, 3 triangles and 3 tents for a camping theme!
Used Funky Fairy green Meadow and orange Cool Co-ordinates papers with Cuttlebug dies.

Funky Fairy - Challenge 23

This week's Funky Fairy challenge is Beads & Buttons and Meyala has set this one:
"Just make something, anything (!!), which features buttons and beads and lets see how creative we can all be... but why stick at one thing? !"

I have used Doodlementals which is a free download kit on the Funky Fairy Inspirations Blog. It is packed with papers and toppers so well worth getting. I have added leaf-shaped buttons on wire stems and sequins and beads to the layered flower centres.

Funky Fairy Challenge 22

This week's Funky Fairy Challenge is Summer-themed: To create something summery - "Think summer colours, summer images, totally hot!"
I have created 2 things: I covered an old school exercise book with Funky Fairy Colourful Daze papers and alphas and decorated this with Morsels Beach Collection stamps and my Whispers markers.
I then created a card using Funky Flowers papers and Doodles for Daniel flower stamps and a splash of holographic glitter.
