Die-cutting for Young & Old - Jeunes et vieille !

Our 5-year old grandson is keen on pirates at the moment so I took inspiration from Pete Hughes card, which I pinned here, and created his birthday card using just circle dies for the pirate head with a printed greeting. He loved it!

At the other end of the age range, I was asked to make a card for a 90-year old so I used the Garden Party decoupage pad of flowers to make a wreath circling the number cut from glitter card with Sizzix Tim Holtz 'Word Play' die.

Fairy Cakes - Decoupage cards

I've been asked to make some samples for a cherry fair in a local village so here are a few cards - they need to be quick to make so these pre-cut decoupage are ideal especially as decoupage is very popular here.

Both cards are made from the Trimcraft 'Fairy Cakes' decoupage and paper pack. I added ColorBox Rose Petals ink, Artemio stamps and PaperMania ribbon and bow.
I'm entering these for the challenges on Cupcake craft 'Food for thought' and PaperPlay 'Layer it up'.

Forever Friends découpage - 1st birthday card

It's our grand-daughter's 1st birthday Monday so I finished this card last night to be posted with her presents today! It fits two current challenges too: Forever Friends of having 2 layers + ribbon + something sparkly, and the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge of including a heart. When looking for ideas of what to do I came across this FF decoupage set I bought some time ago so the backing paper, decoupage and sparkly heart is from there and I added the gems, ribbon and typed text, inked with ColorBox chalk.

Sketch Saturday #69

I've a bag of decoupage that I've made up but never mounted so here's one used for "Sketch Saturday" challenge #69. The paper is from DCWV 'All Dressed Up' and the pirate is from Jolly Nation mounted on a oval cut with Nestabilities and the Cuttlebug. I stamped the background and used WHSmith rub-ons for the text.J'ai un sac de découpage j'ai fait mais non-montrée.

Runner's birthday decoupage

Ooops, where did the time go?! Again! Apart from 5 days in the UK I haven't been away either: Just busy here. Well amongst everything else, I do have some cards to share so hopefully I'll keep blogging again now and also try to visit other blogs more:This card uses a decoupage I made myself of my husband's son winning a race that I made for his birthday in July: After digitally cutting out and layering him, I used a strong "gaussian blur" on the background to get rid of the distractions then layered up the parts to get the 3D: Mounted on a blue card blank, sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer, and layered with offcuts of Claire Curd's 'the big one' papers.

A quick card for a biker...

It was quick because I'd already got the découpage made up (about a year ago!) waiting to be used. I found the biker on the Internet and changed him to suit the look I wanted (more hair, fewer tatoos) and then printed and coloured him with Whispers markers. I used the Cuttlebug Mini Mosaic folder and Colorbox chalk ink (Iris blue from Chocolate & Blueberries) direct to the paper for the background and mounted the man and sentiment (from Compagnie d'elves) with 3D foam.

Framed decoupage

Not my usual style but one thing I have learned in selling my cards to a wider market is that you have to create a wider range! These decoupage sheets are from Diamond Craft with the framed card having been created on my Eazi-score board.

The glass is definitely half full !

Wierd few days, still not on top form but really great in other ways! Good news is I have won a sample from ShortCuts of clear & frosted cards which I can't wait to get, and this fab candy arrived from Jessi which was a BIG cheer-up! Big thank you Jessi! Can't wait to play with that stamp and just love the images she sent with it, plus her gorgeous card. Also, I was paid for 33 cards this morning with an order for another 20, and have a confirmed place at the Artisan'Arts Marché de Noël at Châteaulin on 22-23rd Nov : Both big incentives to make LOTS of cards and other bits!

Few cards made yesterday: This one was made with the Cartes Maniak challenge #65 and also Nessy's blog candy challenge in mind and I followed the Ismaki sketch at the same time!

Then mounted a few découpage made a while ago, and finally did a bit of stamping :)

Sunday Stampers - Friendship decoupage & stamp

Just time to sneak in the challenge set on Sunday Stampers last week: 'With a little help from my friends'. The relevance here is more the sentiment than the stamping as that is the only thing I have stamped.

I have made the card for my French tutor as the course finishes tomorrow. The class has had a collection to buy her something nice and I said I would make a card. She has admired the decoupage I have made in lunch breaks and for requests by classmates so I think she'll like this. The friends made on the course, of lots of different nationalities, has been brilliant as we have supported each other in our progress and cheered our successes. Our tutor has met all our differing needs expertly so we really are very grateful to her. I have a long way to go to be bi-lingual but I have made a lot of progress in the last 4 months.

Daring Cardmakers & Decoupage

Been stressing a lot lately and it's been difficult to get on the computer for any length of time as that area is finally getting renovated and so the bits of equipment are constantly being moved and the modem, etc is unplugged a lot too :( My reaction has been to découpage fanatically: I now have a whole box of découpaged pieces waiting to be mounted on to cards! Finally finished one this morning so I thought I'd share it and hopefully give you a laugh too:
Front:Inside:Don't you think the toad got away lightly?! For me, it just had to be a Mother's Day card, which is 25th May 2008 here in France.
The backing pieces and small flowers have been salvaged from another card which is why it fits the Daring Cardmakers Challenge to recycle cards, etc. I rearranged the pieces with the decoupage hiding some old marks, coloured and added the peel-off sentiment and finally added the gem. The green backing paper used inside is from Funky Fairy's 'Cool Co-ordinates' and you'll see I gusseted the card to allow for the decoupage. The decoupage is from a new French magazine: Passion Cartes Creative.
